Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator

The selected individual must be certified to at least a Class C, Sub Classification 1 license (as per PADEP definition). Laboratory analytical experience is also required. The individual must be able to operate the wastewater treatment plant in a manner to consistently meet NPDES effluent requirements. Operator must understand and be able to apply practical operating knowledge in a complex treatment process that includes anaerobic, aerobic, physical/chemical clarification, tertiary filtration, basic and advanced disinfection, chilled water systems and solids management. Individual must have at least 5 years of daily waste water systems operations experience at a NPDES-permitted operation. Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge is needed in order to perform daily preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on equipment. The Operator must have a working knowledge of SCADA systems, basic computer skills (MS Excel), and computational math skills. Collection and analysis of routine process control and final effluent samples is also a requirement. The ability to work independently with little or no supervision is a must, and thorough documentation skills are necessary.
