Maintenance Technician

Can Corporation of America is a leader in the manufacturing of steel cans used in the agriculture and various other industries. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to ensure they are operating properly. This person will have excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of mechanics. This role also requires physical stamina and strength, as you’ll have to stand for long hours and occasionally carry heavy loads.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance to mechanical devices
  • Detect malfunctions through observation (sound or visual)
  • Run diagnostic tests to ensure system functionality
  • Repair broken or faulty machine parts
  • Perform emergency repairs
  • Choose appropriate materials based on mechanical needs
  • Align and calibrate machine parts
  • Monitor and report on project progress
  • Adjust equipment to conform to Quality Standards
  • Performs change overs on equipment to run different sizes of productts
  • Inspect our wide range of equipment for worn and broke parts
  • Troubleshoots mechanical components of the m/c during breakdown and maintenance
  • Reads and understands operation manuals and had the ability to use different tool including measuring tools, such as Calipers and Micrometers
  • Follow safety rules and regulations
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar role
  • Trade or vocation school preferred but not required
  • Knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability
  • Strong computer skills
  • Physical dexterity
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
